CHARGING ISSUE VERSUS ‘DOES NOT SWITCH ON’ SYMPTOM
There have been complaints about ‘phone does not switch on’ on RM-265
phones.
When the case has been examined, it has been seen that the battery was
totally empty. After the phone was set to charging the display stayed blank for
a long period of time and the phone did not respond to key pressing. The
charging icon was not shown as expected.
However if a charged battery was placed in the phone, the phone behaved as
normal.
It is suspected that this error is sometimes mistakenly interpreted as ‘phone
does not switch on’ case.
Charging issue:
- MCU SW version 3.21 and 4.80 behaviour when charging
- Empty battery: It may take up to 30 min in worst case before the phone
shows ‘Charging icon’ on display
- The present MCU SW version 4.84 has improvements. With this SW
version it takes up to 3 minutes until the ‘Charging icon’ is seen.
